Adult Softball Leagues

Leagues (all leagues are ages 18 and up):

  • Co-ed Recreational (spring and fall):  USA Softball rules; single wall, one-piece aluminum/alloy or wood bat rule for men; women may use any ASA-approved bats (single wall aluminum/alloy, multi-wall aluminum/alloy, composite, and wood) not listed on the ASA Non-Approved bats list (www.teamusa.org/USA-Softball.aspx/) ; 6 men/4 women; games on Mondays.
  • Co-ed Open (spring, summer, fall):  USA Softball rules; men and women may use any ASA-approved bats not listed on the ASA Non-Approved bats list (www.teamusa.org/USA-Softball.aspx/); 6 men/4 women; games on Mondays
  • Co-ed 1-Pitch (summer only):  USA Softball and USSSA rules; 6 men/4 women; men and women may use any ASA-approved bats not listed on the ASA Non-Approved bats list (www.teamusa.org/USA-Softball.aspx/); women may also use current USSSA-approved bats; games on Mondays.
  • Men's Open (spring and fall):  USA Softball rules; ASA-approved and USSSA-approved bats allowed (USSSA bats must have current USSSA certification marks on them); games on Thursdays.
  • Men's Recreational "Hit Our Stick"(spring and fall):  USA Softball rules; ASA-approved bats provided by the Recreation Department (personal bats not allowed); games on Thursdays.

Registration for 2 weeks in May

  • (On-time)  May 14th-18th:  $250 team registration fee
  • (Late)  May 21st-25th:  $275 team registration fee
  • Two-game refundable forfeit fee due June 1st:  $72

Adult Basketball League

Team registration fee:  $350 (cash, check, Visa or MasterCard), due at time of registration

League information:

  • 12-person roster limit per team
  • Teams must have matching uniform shirts with numbers on backs
  • 10-game season per team and double-elimination tournament

Soccer Made In America Summer Soccer Camp

June 18th - 22nd, 2018
Hickory Street Park
9:00am-12:00pm each day
Ages 4 - 17

$160 first family member
$150 second family member
Register at the Atlantic Recreation Center

Nationally renowned training program with professional coaches.  Participants will improve their technical and tactical knowledge of soccer, with emphasis on proper body mechanics.
Each player should bring a soccer ball, water bottle, and shin guards.

Pickleball

This "sport" is a combination of tennis and ping pong, played on a badminton-sized court with a net close to the ground, where players use paddles and a small wiffle ball.  Find out more at www.pickleball.com or www.usapa.org.

Open pickleball is played at the Central Park Multi-Purpose Court, behind Tennis Courts Number 3 and Number 4 at the corner of South 13th Street and Atlantic Avenue.  Four (4) pickleball courts are available.

Co-sponsored Youth Sports Associations

The City of Fernandina Beach co-sponsors several youth sports associations.  All of these non-profit associations utilize City facilities for their particular activities, under the conditions of City Facilities Use Agreements for Sport Leagues, and they conduct their own registrations throughout the year.  Volunteer and sponsorship opportunities are abundant and welcomed.

All patrons of the proper age must present photo identification and be checked in by the Gym attendant in order to use Peck Gym.
Lockers are available for personal items. Bring your own lock.


Pick-Up Basketball for Homeschoolers

Instructor Jeff Weisfeld will teach basic basketball skills, rules, terminology, sportsmanship, and teamwork, along with exercise and hydration principles.  Boys and girls ages 4 - 18.  For a program description, click on the following link:  Homeschool Basketball description

Open Basketball

Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00am - 7:00pm; Wednesdays from 11:00am - 5:15pm; Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:00am - 4:30pm (11:00am - 2:00pm from November - April due to volleyball teams' activities).

Youth Team Volleyball

Locals Volleyball Club 2nd Annual Beach Volleyball Camp

May 30th - June 1st at Sadler Road Beach Access

Ages 12 - 18; all participants must have current Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) memberships (visit www.aausports.org to obtain membership)

Last day of camp - tournament:  pool play followed by bracket play.  Gold, silver, and bronze medals awarded.

Entry fee:  $275.  Entry deadline:  May 18th.
