Community Development Department is the City’s primary source of information regarding
Flood Insurance Rate Maps.
Since some locations are in “Special Flood Hazard Areas” it is important to know the base flood elevation of the property and insurance protection requirements, if applicable.

The Fernandina Beach Public Library, has flood protection reference materials available to the public.
These include:

- State and federal information on flood insurance and protection
- Contact agencies
- Publications on flood damage, flood protection and building techniques
