Compensation

The Fernandina Beach Police Department is currently in the first year of a three year contract. Police Officers and Police Sergeants are represented in collective bargaining by the Coastal Florida Police Benevolent Association, (CFPBA). The starting salary for Certified Police Officers:


  • FY 2022/23 $50,000


Competitive Benefits

Fernandina Beach Police Officers also receive competitive benefits, to include:

  • Accumulation of 200 hours of Compensatory Time
  • Annual Sell-back of 75 hours of Compensatory Time
  • Differential Pay of 10% for Field Training Officers
  • A three hour minimum for court Subpoenas and Depositions
  • Shift Differential pay for working the Night Shift
  • Paid Time Off (P.T.O.) 192 hours after 1 year
  • Differential Pay of 6% for Detectives
  • Tuition Reimbursement Program
  • Annual Shift Pick in Patrol Division
  • Forty (40) Mile Radius for Residency Requirement
  • Thirty (30) Mile Residency Radius for Personally Assigned Vehicles
